Welcome

Welcome to our little country school in the hills of Castroville, Texas.  Our parents are proud to invest in the Catholic education at St. Louis School.  It is an investment that provides benefits for life – not just the individual, but our communities, state and nation as well.  Our Catholic students graduate at the top of their class and go on to serve in careers that build and strengthen the very fabric of our faith and society.

Faith, knowledge, discipline, morals and love are the characteristic pillars found in St. Louis Catholic School (SLCS).  Our Catholic faith is not just taught but is at the very foundation of our school life.  Regular Mass, prayer and community service, songs, outreach activities and readings reveal the beautiful message of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  We live our faith and model kind, respectful and loving relationships.

St. Louis Catholic School is also dedicated to excellence in academics.  Our curriculum sets high standards and expectations for students to succeed in a positive, safe environment that attempts to meet the needs of all students.  Safety, order and discipline in classrooms, allows students to focus on learning and emotionally thrive in a healthy environment.  Strong morals allow us to navigate life with Christian strength and grace.

Our technology is second to none.  In every classroom you will find a smartboard, an Elmo overhead, a computer center, a teacher laptop, Neo 2’s and scantrons.  Teacher wiki pages are also available on our web page for parent and student interaction.  Our computer lab services twenty five students K-5 and provides tutorials, keyboarding, technology literacy and quizdoms.  Our Library is a media center that is the hub for Renaissance Learning in reading and mathematics as well as Home Connect.  Technology is a reality at SLCS that is actually a part of daily instruction and everyone benefits .  “SLCS is a country school with a 21st Century twist.”

God’s Blessings,

Larry Dorsey-Spitz, Principal
